The dense elastic layer adheres tightly to surfaces, minimising sound transmission thanks to its high mass density of 2000 kg/m³ and low elastic modulus (E = 0.008 GPa).

A secondary sound-absorbing layer reduces sound pressure within the enclosure, enhancing overall noise reduction. The three-layer version adds an elastic high-density intermediate layer, providing superior insulation for washing machine and dishwasher cabinets, as well as internal cabinet doors.
